5 by Peugeot is a slightly disguised as a concept version of the forthcoming 508 mid-class sedan. The 508 will be bigger than the 407 and smaller than 607 and it will eventually replace both. The '5' together with the recent Sr1 concept show the new design language of Peugeot.

Every year Rinspeed has a strong presence in the Geneva motor show, this year with the relatively conventional (for Rinspeed) UC? concept. It is a 2-seat electric city car that looks like a mini Fiat 500. As always with Rinspeed designs there is also a crazy feature but this time it is the interior.

District 9 was one of the best movies of 2009 and if you have seen it apart from Neill Blomkamp you should probably be impressed from the conceptual design and the props in that movie. Everything from MNU equipment to alien tools was exquisitely detailed in an extremely realistic way. Now Weta Workshop released limited edition exact replicas of two of the alien weapons in the film.

Motorhomes or RVs haven't evolve much for decades. They may have good quality materials and equipment no different from a small house but likewise they are designed like a small house that simply is on top (or get towed by) a car or truck. There must be a better design because a motorhome will eventually be used differently than a house and as obvious as this sounds the general motorhome companies seems to haven't notice it. Some years ago I saw the livingis.be website where these images are from. It is a motorhome based on a Unimog U4000 off-road truck. Instead of the conventional construction it has a accommodation structure made from riveted aluminum spars and panels, a foldable roof and a very efficient and practical interior layout.

The Slegoon is a new kind of snow sled. Not only it offers protection in the event of a roll-over but it is designed to continue gliding even while rolling. It should take a tree or a big rock to stop you descending a snowed slope and even then you will probably walk unharmed.

Toyota plans to expand the prius as a sub-brand instead of a stand alone model and invest in its hugely popular name and hype. A slightly smaller and cheaper volume seller is probably the wiser choice for this expansion and could be the affordable hybrid that Honda's Insight II supposed to be. The FT-CH concept is targeted to this segment. It is shorter than a Prius and slightly narrower. Its design relates to the familiar (and instantly recognizable as a hybrid) egg-shaped monobox but it is boxier and more practical.
